Draft Rules
- Team names will be chosen in order, beginning with the seniority coach down to the 1st year coach.
- Draft order will be determined by coaches pulling a number out of a hat.
- Snake Draft Rules: Draft order will follow first to last coach, then last back up to first coach. Repeat until all players are accounted for.
- Players that try-out are the only players available to chooe from in drafts.
- Players that do not try-out will be hat picked only after all the players that tried out are drafted.
- Play-up player requirements:
- Player must have played at least 1 season in the original age division.
- Player shall try-out for the division they want to play up for.
- Play-up players must be drafted in the top 2 rounds. If not, the player will be moved back down to their original age division.
- Coaches cannot move up in age division to automatically move their kid up.
- Coach’s kid will automatically be assigned to the team in the last round after the hat picks are complete, UNLESS the coach’s kid is a first–year play-up player, in which they will go #1 in the draft.
- If a coach has siblings in the draft, the younger kid will go in the 4th round, UNLESS they are a first year play-up player, in which the siblings will goin the first round for the play-up player and the older kid will go in the last round after hat picks.
- If the coach’s kid is a play-up player from the previous season, they will be considered the older age of the division and will go in the 3rd round.
- Assistant coach’s kids will go in the 1st round, with the exception if a coach’s kid is a first year pick-up player, then the assistant coach’s kid will go in the 2nd round. Play-up players cannot be locked in as an assistant coach’s kid.
- There shall only be 1 Assistant coach’s kid assigned to a team before drafts, unless the assistant coach has siblings playing in the division. In such a case, one sibling will be drafted in the 1st round, and the other sibling will be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round depending on the coach’s kid’s age.
- In the event a coach does not have a child playing on the team, they shall receive the last hat pick to accommodate the offset.
- Coaches will only be able to draft one more older player than younger players.
- 10U, 12U, and 15U divisions will have the option to draft pitchers & catchers first, then proceed with the draft.
- Trades shall be finalized no more than 5 minutes after the draft ends.
- any coach that cannot be present for the draft needs to send the assistant coach in their place. If neither is present, a board member will draft their team.
- Ride share considerations are solely up to the coaches who draft said players.
